Caddell named Staff Employee of the Month
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (February 4, 2014) — For the month of January, the Tuskegee University Staff Senate presented the Employee Excellent Customer Service recognition to Constance Caddell. She is the secretary for the Department of English. For her continued commitment to excellence in customer service she received a certificate, a $25 gift card and a free TU parking decal for a year. Benjamin Hart Fishkin, assistant professor in the Department of English, nominated her.
“Everyone loves her. She is helpful, on time, responsible and (above all else) organized. I cannot think of a more deserving candidate for the award,” Fishkin said.
Caddell is a native of the City of Tuskegee and a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She has been with the university for five years and said she enjoys her work immensely. Her supervisor is the department head, Loretta Burns. She said it brings her joy and fulfillment when she assists the faculty, staff, and students of Tuskegee University with their various needs. Her duties include maintaining the departmental office, preparing institutional forms, receiving visitors, managing office supplies, and operating office machinery.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Tuskegee University and a master’s degree in marketing from Colorado Technical University. Her future goal is to be a librarian. She is an active member of New Exodus Apostolic Church (Notasulga, Ala.), where she serves as a Sunday School teacher and youth director. She said she gives glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ for his love and guidance. She is also a pattern tester for a knitting designer and does craft presentations.
Caddell said she finds that positive interaction with family, friends, and co-workers is a blessing. She is honored and thankful to have been selected for the Employee Excellence Award of the Month. Her parents are Harvey Caddell and Margaret Holt Caddell, also employed by Tuskegee University.
