John H. Yancy

John H. Yancy completed the Tuskegee University forestry training program in 1970 and subsequently earned the Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University. He has since completed training programs at Clemson and Oregon State Universities. A native of Opelika, AL, Yancy was the first African American District Ranger in the southeastern United States, the first African American Forest Supervisor in Alabama, and the third African American Forest Supervisor in the United States.
