Financial Support



Applicants selected to join the Materials Science and Engineering programs are awarded fellowships consisting of a stipend and tuition.  The support amount is based on the following:

Master’s Students Receive a Stipend of $15,000  - $20,000 annually plus tuition

Ph.D. Students Receive a Stipend of $20,000  - $30,000 annually plus tuition

Continued support is based on the following:

  • Successful performance in research, as determined  by the major professor
  • Maintenance of cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all course work
  • Participation in all activities that are required for Master’s and Ph.D. students in MSE
  • The availability of funds
