Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine Selected for ”On The Job” TV Program
The Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM) has been selected as a site for the taping of "On The Job" with show host Bobby Jon Drinkard, produced by AIDT (Alabama Industrial Development Training), on Monday, November 15, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
"On The Job" is an informative and weekly television show that showcases unique and often overlooked educational opportunities in Alabama. The show airs on Alabama Public Television on Sundays at 12:30 p.m. (CST) and on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. (CST) on NBC affiliate WSFA-TV Digital Station 12.2. The show reaches over 5 million viewers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
The taping of the TV segment here at Tuskegee will showcase the School of Veterinary Medicine, with specific focus on the Department of Pathobiology. The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) will also be featured.
This is not only great news for TUSVM, but also great news for the entire university. The producers of "On The Job" have never taped at Tuskegee University. So, this is not just an opportunity to showcase the veterinary program, especially the Pathobiology Department, but open the doors for other departments within the University to be showcased in possible future programs.
This endeavor would not be possible without the efforts of Dr. F. Tippett, Head, Department of Pathobiology, and the faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Pathobiology. Dr. M. Vig, Professor of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, and faculty and students in the VMTH, are also to be commended. They have all worked very hard in preparation for Monday's taping.
