• Science & Technology Open House 2013

  Friday, April 05, 2013 to Saturday, April 6, 2013

  Researchers from across the state will gather to highlight Alabama’s Nano/Bio Science and Sensors research efforts during the Science and Technology Open House on Friday, April 5, 2013 and Saturday, April 6, 2013. The event will be held at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa Conference Center located at 201 Tallapoosa Street,  Montgomery, AL 36104 . Updated information will be added to this site as it becomes available.

  There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.  Registration for the event is now open.  Online registration closes March 15, 2013.

• “Science: Becoming the Messenger” NSF Workshop

  Tuesday, November 27, 2012  to Wednesday, November 28, 2012

  The National Science Foundation (NSF) and Alabama NSF EPSCoR sponsored a workshop, “Science:  Becoming the Messenger”, for approximately 100 of Alabama scientists and researchers interested in enhancing their communication skills with the public. The workshop featured three prominent speakers: Emmy award-winning television producer Joe Schreiber; former PBS executive Dan Agan; and best-selling science journalist Chris Mooney.

•    Science & Technology Open House 2012

Friday, April 13, 2012  to Saturday, April 14, 2012

The 3rd Annual Science & Technology Open House was held on Friday, April 13 - Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Tuskegee University. The Open House took place in the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center auditorium with 247 participants from across Alabama. Themed: "Celebrating Creativity and Innovation through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM),” the open house covered topics such as nanotechnology, space, mechanical and electrical energy. It featured a seminar on graduate education, poster presentations, hand-on demonstrations and networking.
