MSP EXTERNAL ADVISORY BOARD JOINED PROJECT PARTICIPANTS

FIRST SPRING TEACHERS
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

    On Thursday, January 31, 2013, the Math and Science Partnership (MSP), held its first spring workshop at the Tuskegee University Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.  The Workshop was attended by over one hundred participants including:  External Advisory Board members, STEM faculty and partners, and 6th-8th grade science teachers.  The one-day workshop began with Dr. Jeelani, Principal Investigator, providing an overview of MSP followed by an agenda of interactive inquiry-based science module demonstrations by STEM faculty, information on the 37th 2013 SECME Summer Institute, teacher testimonials, and evaluations.  In conjunction with the afternoon module presentations, the External Advisory Board members which consisted of Drs. Keith Hargrove, Daryush Ila, Shashi Jasty, and W. Gary Martin, assembled to evaluate the MSP program and made recommendations to strengthen its effectiveness.
