More than 1500 prospective students and family members visit Tuskegee for 2026 Spring Open House

Tuskegee University welcomed more than 1500 prospective students and their families to Open House on campus last Saturday, showcasing Mother Tuskegee’s rich legacy, academic excellence, and vibrant campus life.
 
Open House workersOpening with a warm welcome from Avery Thomas, 2025-206 President of the Student Government Association, remarks from Mr. and Miss Tuskegee, David Larkin and Zion Hunt, and greetings from Dr. Courtney L. Griffin, Director of Admissions and Recruitment in the University Chapel, the morning was capped off by an address from Dr. Mark A. Brown, president and CEO.
 
The program also featured musical selections from the Tuskegee University Golden Voices Choir under the direction of Dr. Wayne Barr and important academic and student life information from Dr. Thierno Thiam, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Dr. Rolundus Rice, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Student Affairs.
 
Open House included guided tours and information sessions for the following:
 
  • A prospective student and her familyCollege of Arts and Sciences (John Kenney Hall Auditorium for Liberal Studies, Social Sciences, and Humanities)
  • College of Arts and Sciences (Armstrong Hall Auditorium for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
  • Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science (Wilcox A)
  • School of Nursing and Allied Health (Basil O’Connor Hall)
  • School of Education (Huntington Hall)
  • College of Engineering (Luther Foster Hall)
  • College of Business (Andrew F. Brimmer Hall)
  • College of Agriculture, Environmental and Nutrition Sciences (Henderson Hall)
The remainder of the day highlighted Tuskegee’s vibrant student life with entertainment on “the Ave,” including the NPHC Showcase, Golden Tigers Cheerleaders, ROTC Cadets, and the Marching Crimson Pipers.
 
Attendees also enjoyed lunch in Tompkins Hall, a men’s and women’s tennis match at the Logan Hall tennis courts, band and choir auditions, a Financial Aid Hour, a Student Services Fair, and a yard party.
