Tuskegee University is proud to partner with the Montgomery Biscuits for the second year in a row to pay homage to a researcher and scientist whose work is still felt on campus during the George Washington Carver Legacy Night for Macon County on Friday.
And once again, when players take the field at 6:35 p.m. Friday at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, they will honor Carver’s work as the Peanut Runners.
This is a collaboration with Tuskegee University, the community of Macon County, and the Montgomery Biscuits. The effort was spearheaded by Dr. Olga Bolden-Tiller, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Environment, and Nutrition Sciences and Walter Cooper, Director of the Career Education Leadership Development Center. Dr. Kellei Samuels, Chief of Staff, will throw the first pitch. The university’s Golden Voices Choir will perform the National Anthem.
Tickets are available online and at the stadium. Tuskegee students may attend by presenting their TU ID and the first 50 students will enjoy the game for free. Students who are interested in riding the university bus from campus must notify Scott Johnston at sjohnston@tuskegee.edu by 10 a.m. on Friday. The bus will leave campus at 4 p.m. on Friday for the game.
