Tuskegee University will honor its long-standing commitment to house all incoming freshmen and Presidential Scholars on campus this fall. Tuskegee remains fully committed to this tradition, which is central to the student experience and the successful transition of our newest Golden Tigers.
Tuskegee is preparing to welcome a record number of new students this fall. In anticipation of this growth, the university has hosted housing information sessions monthly since January for students and families, while closely monitoring application trends and demand.
An influx of housing applications submitted just before last week’s deadline required additional planning to accommodate increased interest in on-campus living. Because the university has proactively tracked housing needs—operating nearly two months ahead of previous years—we are positioned to meet this demand and uphold our commitment.
All incoming freshmen and Presidential Scholars who enroll at Tuskegee will be housed on campus. Housing assignments will be communicated to students as quickly as possible through eRezLife, and we appreciate the patience of our families as final placements are completed.
With more stringent federal financial aid requirements than in previous years, the university has continued to communicate the 2026–2027 fee structure and total cost of attendance. As a reminder, all students must be financially cleared before moving into their assigned residence hall.
Students who have paid housing deposits will have those funds credited to their accounts upon arrival. Should a student decide not to enroll, the $300 deposit will be returned in accordance with university policy. If a student decides to enroll but not live in student housing, the deposit will be credited to their account. In no case will the student lose their deposit.
Becoming a Golden Tiger is a tradition that generations have cherished. Our goal is to ensure that every student’s transition into this legacy of leadership is as smooth and well-supported as possible.
