The Golden Essence Dance Team was founded as a student organization, and then became a support/spirit team for Tuskegee University under Students Life. Since then, Golden Essence Dance Team has become a tradition of Tuskegee University. The team consists of young ladies that wish to continue their dance careers while entertaining the sports fans at Tuskegee university basketball games. The dance team is under the advisement of Ms. Jamilla Ingram and Dr. Maya Martin.
The Golden Essence Dance Team serves as a support/spirit squad for Tuskegee University basketball teams, showcasing halftime routines at home games and participating in various campus events beyond basketball games.
